The buzz around the latest flagship smartphone series from vivo, the vivo X100 Series, is growing louder. This time, the spotlight is on the telephoto camera that’s set to enhance the capabilities of the vivo X100 Pro.
In a recent leak by Digital Chat Station, a periscope module for the vivo X100 Pro has been unveiled. This module features a remarkable 100mm periscope lens with an impressive f/2.5 aperture. What does this mean for photography enthusiasts? Well, it signifies that the telephoto camera on the X100 Pro will be capable of capturing high-quality images even in challenging low-light conditions.
Turning our attention to the camera’s sensor, it’s reported that the X100 Pro will employ a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor. This sensor boasts a native pixel size of 0.7µm and supports advanced features like 4-in-1 binning and original 2x digital cropping for improved image quality.
As for the primary camera sensor, the smartphone will feature a 53MP Sony sensor with a substantial 1/1.43-inch size. There are also tantalizing rumors that the Pro+ model will outshine its standard Pro counterpart with a 200MP telephoto camera and a remarkable 1″ IMX989 main camera.
In an exciting collaboration, vivo will once again team up with Zeiss, hinting at the inclusion of a Vario-Apo-Sonnar lens in the X100 Pro.
The X100 Series is set to consist of three models: the vivo X100, X100 Pro, and vivo X100 Pro+. The initial releases, the X100 and X100 Pro, are anticipated to hit the market in November, while the highest-tier model is expected to make its debut in early 2024.
In addition to its impressive camera capabilities, leaked specifications also suggest that the vivo X100 will be powered by the Dimensity 9300 SoC, while the two Pro models will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, featuring a custom V3 ISP chip tailored for superior image processing.
