WhatsApp Possibly Introducing Original Quality Photo and Video Sharing?

In a potentially exciting development, WhatsApp seems to be in the process of implementing a feature that would allow users to send photos and videos without any loss of quality, maintaining their original, uncompressed state. This intriguing feature has surfaced within the latest WhatsApp Beta version 2.23.18.12 for Android.

Notably, WhatsApp had recently rolled out the option to send photos and videos in HD quality, a step up from the standard. However, even in this improved setting, files underwent a certain level of compression, and videos were capped at a maximum resolution of 720p.

Presently, the sole workaround for sharing media in its unadulterated quality involves sending it as a document. Yet, this method proved a bit intricate, requiring users to navigate through their device’s file manager and various folders.

To address this, WhatsApp appears to be streamlining the process. According to screenshots disclosed by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is adding an innovative “choose from gallery” option within the document picker interface. This enhancement is set to simplify the experience of sharing documents.

WhatsApp Akan Bisa Kirim Foto dan Video dengan Kualitas Asli?

In essence, this implies that users will be able to select photos or videos directly through their device’s native gallery application, eliminating unnecessary steps and saving precious time. The option’s accompanying caption, “Select original quality photos or videos,” further elucidates its purpose.

WABetaInfo clarifies that while these images and videos will still be sent in document form, the updated process will be notably more user-friendly. It’s worth noting that this approach differs from the recently introduced HD photo and video sharing feature.

While sending media directly via the dedicated camera or gallery icons is indeed more straightforward, this upcoming attribute certainly sparks interest due to its convenience and potential benefits. Moreover, the expanded document file size limit of up to 2GB for WhatsApp further enhances its appeal. How about you? Do you frequently employ the document sharing method for sending photos or videos on WhatsApp?
