WhatsApp recently released an interesting new feature, which allows users to edit sent messages. It’s perfect for those who often send typos.
Editing your own messages is quite easy. Simply select the message you want to edit and choose the edit option from the menu. However, please note that editing can only be done within 15 minutes of sending the message.
Once edited, the message will display the status “Edited,” so other users will know that the message has been changed. However, the editing history or previous message content will not be shown.
It’s important to note that this edit feature only applies to text messages. Media files such as photos, videos, or captions cannot be edited at this time and can only be permanently deleted.
WhatsApp ensures that this message editing feature is protected by end-to-end encryption, just like the messages, media, calls, and other features on the Meta-owned messaging platform.
The message editing feature has been globally rolled out by WhatsApp and will be available to all users in the coming weeks, including those on Android, iOS, desktop, or website platforms.
