If updating Windows is already a tiring task, it seems that soon Windows 11 users will be burdened with additional work through the upcoming update.
Windows is known for not being very good at presenting their features to the public. As often heard, Microsoft sometimes seems to force users to use their features, such as constantly advertising Microsoft Edge when users download other browsers.
The Latest Windows 11 Notification Forces Users to Pin Apps on the Taskbar and Make Them Default Apps
In their latest blog post, Microsoft is planning a new feature that will be continuously refined. There will be a feature that displays a notification requesting the user to pin the application to the taskbar and make it the default program.
This feature will be available as a new API for developers to develop notification features in the future. The blog also mentions that this feature will run automatically if the application developer includes it in their software.
As an example, this is the same case as Microsoft Edge, which will always ask users to make it the default browser. The difference now is that every application will have the same feature once you install it.
This Windows 11 Update is Currently in Limited Testing
This feature is planned to be available for Windows Insider Dev Channel in the coming months. If it gets a good response, it will likely land officially in the retail version.
Of course, this will add one more task that shouldn’t need to be done by ordinary users. Although the reason is that this feature can give users full permission over what apps can do, it seems that it will only add one more button that needs to be clicked. And the execution seems forced, which hopefully will change in the future.
