Xiaomi Commences Mass Production of Redmi 300W Charger

Well-known Weibo leaker, Digital Chat Station, has once again provided insights into Xiaomi’s latest technological marvel. Xiaomi was recently rumored to be in the development phase of a Redmi 300W charger, and now it’s reported that this charger is undergoing mass production.

Details regarding the official release date of this 300W charger are still scarce. However, Xiaomi previously conducted tests of the 300W charging capability using a modified version of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+, demonstrating impressive results.

In these tests, the modified Redmi Note 12 Pro+ managed to charge its 4100mAh battery to around 50% in just two minutes and achieve a full charge in five minutes, all thanks to the super-fast 300W charging technology.

It’s worth noting that in these trials, the technology reached a peak power output of approximately 290W, coming close to the promised 300W level. These tests have provided strong indications that this technology is on the verge of being introduced to consumers.

However, with such high power levels, safety concerns naturally arise during the charging process. Xiaomi, in response, claims that the 300W charging technology has been meticulously designed with the incorporation of new materials. This includes the charger itself, the smartphone charging architecture, and the battery.

The charger adopts a fourth-generation integrated GaN (gallium nitride) solution, maintaining a form factor similar to Xiaomi’s previous 210W charger but with a substantial 43% boost in power.

Moreover, this charger features a dedicated power chip boasting a maximum conversion efficiency of 98%. This effectively addresses issues related to heat generation in the charging input pathway and mitigates temperature increases during the charging process originating from the power source.

With its immense 300W charging capacity, it’s anticipated that this technology will find utility beyond smartphones, potentially extending its application to devices such as laptops or even electric bicycles.
