Zoom! Threads User Count Reaches 50 Million Within the First 24 Hours

Threads, the rival app to Twitter by Meta, was officially released to several countries on Thursday (7/6/2023) yesterday. A multitude of users flocked to try out the new platform. As a result, the number of Threads users reached an impressive 50 million in just the first 24 hours.

This figure is indeed very impressive for a new platform, but it is not surprising. Threads can be considered to “ride on” the 2.35 billion active user base of Instagram, where users can easily transfer their Instagram accounts to Threads without having to create a new account.

Threads has also reportedly accumulated over 95 million posts and 190 million likes on their platform within 24 hours. It doesn’t stop there, as the Threads app, released under the name of Instagram on both Android and iOS, successfully claimed the top position in the Google Play Store and App Store until the time of writing this article.

Despite all of that, Threads seems to have taken advantage of the opportunity very well. They didn’t wait long to release the app after Twitter implemented limits on the number of tweets that can be read per day. This further incentivized users to switch platforms.

The Threads user base is expected to grow even larger, especially since they haven’t released it for the European region, which seems to be delayed due to stricter regulations there. If accompanied by feature enhancements that can enhance user comfort, it is not impossible for Threads to surpass Twitter in the future. What do you think?
