The new Apple MacBook Air 15-inch was recently launched at WWDC 2023. This new MacBook Air is Apple’s largest and most affordable laptop with the new M-series chip.
Apple claims that the 15-inch Apple MacBook Air with the M2 chip is the thinnest 15-inch laptop in the world, measuring just 11.5mm in thickness. The 15-inch MacBook Air will go on sale soon, and interestingly, new details about its successor have emerged online.
According to a new report, Apple is already working on the Apple MacBook Air M3 15-inch. However, it is reported that the 15-inch MacBook Air powered by the M3 chip will not be launched in the near future.
According to leaker Gurman, the refreshed lineup of MacBook Air, equipped with the upgraded M3 SoC, will be launched in 2024.
It is expected that Apple will release an updated lineup of the Apple MacBook Air M3 15-inch next year, with screen options of 13.6 inches and 15.3 inches.
The new M3 SoC is also likely to be built on the 3nm TSMC process, which theoretically offers significant performance and power efficiency improvements.
Gurman stated that the M3 chip should have the same number of CPU and GPU cores as the M2 chip. This means that the baseline M3 chip will have an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU.
Gurman also added that a new iMac and a 13-inch MacBook Pro model with the M3 chip are also in development. The iMac M3 will retain the design of the original M1 iMac launched in 2021.
Gurman predicts that the iMac M3 will be launched early next year. There is no news yet on whether the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M3 chip will receive a design refresh.
