Asus has recently initiated pre-orders for the Zenfone 10 in the United States, marking a significant development. However, there’s a buzz circulating that this release might signify the conclusion of the long-standing ASUS Zenfone series.
Reports from Taiwanese media reveal that ASUS is presently in the midst of an “organizational restructuring.” This maneuver could potentially lead to a downsizing of the workforce within the company’s PC departments based in Taiwan and China.
The company’s strategy involves transferring a considerable number of employees to the smartphone division, comprising both the Zenfone and ROG Phone segments. Unfortunately, this strategy is anticipated to result in workforce reductions for a subset of employees.
Allegedly, the Zenfone division is undergoing dissolution, with ASUS relocating numerous employees from this section to other divisions, particularly to reinforce the ROG Phone team. This shift in resources indirectly hints that the Zenfone 10 might serve as the swan song of Asus’ Zenfone product line.
Despite these reports gaining momentum about the dissolution of the Zenfone division, ASUS, regrettably, hasn’t issued any official statement regarding these speculations. The community is eagerly awaiting a formal affirmation from ASUS to ascertain the accuracy of these claims.
The ASUS Zenfone Series, which debuted in 2014, has enjoyed a prolonged presence. Several models from this series have gained substantial popularity in the Android smartphone market, particularly across Asian markets.
Interestingly, ASUS has been actively pursuing an expansion into the American and European markets. This effort has materialized through their latest offerings, notably the Zenfone 9 and the most recent launch, Zenfone 10. The latter has just commenced its pre-order phase in the United States.
